How to find the GPS locator on the car
Car owners are worried that their vehicles have been installed with locators by criminals, but they don’t know where they are installed. So how can they find the locator on the car? How can car owners find the GPS locator on the car?
How to find the car locator:
1. Some locators will be adsorbed on a part of the car surface, like a magnetic box, which is large in size and we can easily find this locator. But not all locators are like this. We need to check further to see if there are suddenly more wiring outside the car. This is often a signal that the locator has been installed. At this time, we need to refer to the user manual to avoid unplugging important components of the car itself;
2. Check the bottom of the car, lie down like a mechanic, and use a flashlight to check whether there is a positioning device installed around the car chassis. Most tracker installation companies like to install the equipment near the car chassis. We need to pay close attention to the surrounding chassis. The tracker needs to work with the GPS satellite to work. If it is installed in a position blocked by metal, the tracker will not work well. Therefore, when we check the bottom of the car, the places that can receive GPS signals well are our focus;
3. Check the wheel area, such as the plastic cover above the wheel. We check carefully. If a part has signs of bending or loosening, the tracker is likely to be installed here;
4. Check the car's fuel tank, which is usually an ideal place to install a locator because the surface of the part is metal and the signal reception will not be blocked.
Of course, many car owners do not have professional auto repair knowledge, let alone professional equipment to find GPS locators, so it is not recommended for car owners to find and remove them by themselves. It is better to leave professional matters to professionals or use professional equipment.
