How to install and use the car GPS locator

The car GPS locator you bought cannot be used immediately. It needs to be properly installed and activated before it can be used normally. The car GPS locator can be installed according to the following steps before use.

1. Identify the wires of the car GPS locator

Check whether the required positioning terminal accessories and wiring tools are complete.

There are only 3 wires that need to be connected in the simple GPS locator, so first find the wires in bold font in the car.

GPS locator red line → car power positive pole

GPS locator black line → car power negative pole

GPS locator white line → car ACC/key line (detect engine switch status, must be connected)

2. Install SIM card for car GPS locator

Many friends don't understand why GPS positioning system needs to install a mobile phone card. In fact, SIM card plays an important role in GPS positioning system. Simply put, GPS locator is responsible for collecting the longitude and latitude data of the terminal. After collecting the longitude and latitude data, it transmits the positioning data to the designated background in the form of GPRS through the G network of SIM card, and finally forms a positioning monitoring system.

Note: Please make sure that the GPS positioning terminal is not powered on when the SIM card is inserted, otherwise it is easy to burn the card.

After the SIM is installed, please turn on the standby power switch (on the side) and confirm that the SIM is firm and will not loosen.

3. Connect the car GPS locator line

After installing the card, go back to the first step. Install the wire sequence of various colors to ensure that the connector is not loose and does not get water. Please use the standard automotive circuit wiring method during the wiring process, and do not be perfunctory. If the wiring is not handled properly, on the one hand, it is easy for the GPS locator to lose power and fail to work, and there is also a certain safety hazard of short circuit and fire.

The wire ends should be protected with heat shrink tubing to ensure that they are not easy to fall off and water does not enter. Then use waterproof electrical tape to bundle them together with the original car line.

4. Fix the terminal of the vehicle-mounted GPS locator

The GPS locator is small in size and easy to install in a hidden way. The common fixing position is to remove the front fender of the main driver/co-driver, and install it in its internal space, under the seat, trunk, etc. On the one hand, it ensures that the GPS antenna can receive satellite signals normally, and on the other hand, it ensures that the vehicle is not easy to enter water when washing and cause the terminal to burn.

Some precautions:

a. The GPS antenna signal is easily shielded by concrete and metal materials, but plastic, human body, cloth, etc. have no effect. Therefore, when fixing, please ensure that there is no metal material blocking the signal receiving surface above it, and ensure that the receiving surface can face the sky upward. Use Velcro or plastic cable ties to fix it flat so that it will not fall off during long-term use.

b. There is no difference between the front and back when the GPS locator is fixed. Use Velcro and cable ties to fix the terminal tightly to ensure that it will not fall off or make abnormal noises in long-term vehicle bumps, hot and cold alternations, etc.

5. Activate the vehicle-mounted GPS locator

After completing all the above steps, restore the vehicle. Then give the license plate number, terminal ID, SIM and other information to the customer service staff for activation, so that the vehicle can be located and managed on the computer, mobile phone, and WeChat. Since then, the GPS locator has been installed.

After completing the above steps, the vehicle-mounted GPS locator can be used normally. Download the APP, open the account and password, and start checking the car.
